Abbotsford loves Instagram, and one of the most popular local accounts is one that allows residents to poke fun at themselves.
The account @abbotsfordmemes has created 195 posts over its existence and has collected over 12,000 followers along the way.
The page’s description states: Making memes & living the dream in Abbotsford, BC. It’s fun to laugh at ourselves so no one get offended…ya hear?
The account began back on April 19, 2017 and the first post to receive over 1,000 likes was this one taking a jab at some Abbotsford residents penchant for marrying at an early age.
The account also comments on current news topics, such as when Lou’s Grill burnt down back in 2017.
Two years ago the account commented on a story that has popped back up this week - the golden fire hydrants on Eagle Mountain.
The first post to achieve over 2,000 like was this one making fun of Abbotsford’s lack of nightlife options.
The account also gave a nod to the now no longer active Gravity Hill phenomena.
