Sports in brief: UFV hosting multi-sport camps on school strike days

The University of the Fraser Valley athletic department is hosting multi-sport camps next week during rotating school strikes.

The University of the Fraser Valley athletic department is hosting multi-sport camps next week to give local parents another childcare option during rotating strikes by the B.C. Teachers' Federation.

Camps run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Envision Athletic Centre on Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, coinciding with job action in Chilliwack (Tuesday), Abbotsford (Thursday) and Mission (Friday). Activities will include basketball, volleyball and other indoor and outdoor games, and the cost is $40 per camper.

TENNIS CAMP ON MONDAY

A monthly free clinic offered to help special needs adults and children learn tennis happens Monday, June 2.

This is the first clinic, and it will take place at the tennis courts next to MEI schools at 9:30 a.m. Registration can be completed at tenniscamp4kids.com.
