Abbotsford's $30 million airport expansion complete

Politicians, dignitaries and travellers came together Friday afternoon to celebrate the completion of the Abbotsford International Airport expansion project. The $30-million overhaul, financed equally by the federal and provincial governments, as well as the Abbotsford Airport Authority, was finished on time and on budget, according to the media release.

‘Recovery mission’ continues for missing Abbotsford man

On Thursday morning, Mike Vang was in his boat slowly searching the waters by Island 22 in Chilliwack. He has been on the water each day, since his brother, Christopher Vang, was swept away on Monday evening. An Abbotsford resident, Christopher was fishing with two friends in the Peg Leg area on the Fraser River, when one of the men fell into the water. During the rescue attempt, all three men ended up in the river. Only two made it back to shore.
