London Drugs opened Friday (May 26) at its new location in Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.

An official ribbon-cutting was held to mark the occasion. The store is situated on the west side of the mall near the Gladwin Road entrance and moved from its previous location at West Oaks Mall.

The new store features a full-service pharmacy and beauty counter, custom framing, passport photos, and a large tech department with Apple authorized service providers.

The store also provides customers with the Connected Wellness program, which combines health and technology, and an on-site recycling centre.

It also has a partnership with Magnusmode to provide digital guides for in-store activities to aid those living with cognitive disabilities.

Clint Mahlman, president and COO of London Drugs, said the company is “thrilled to join the Sevenoaks Shopping Centre community.”

“London Drugs’ ability to integrate wellness and community and prioritize patient and customer needs has established London Drugs as the go-to retailer for so many Canadians across Western Canada for over 78 years,” he said.

As part of the grand opening at Sevenoaks, London Drugs presented a $5,000 donation to Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Fraser Valley.

London Drugs is also closing its location at Highstreet shopping centre on June 25. The pharmacy team will assist patients with transferring their prescriptions to either the new Sevenoaks Shopping Centre location or another nearby pharmacy.

The company previously said the location has some “logistical challenges,” including confusing access points, limited parking and traffic flow that “negatively impacted” store traffic.
