Fire damaged a vacant home in Abbotsford on Wednesday evening.
Abbotsford Fire Rescue Service (AFRS) were called to the residence on Park Drive near Old Yale Road just before 10 p.m.
When they arrived, heavy smoke was coming from the home.
The fire, which began in the basement, was quickly extinguished. There was smoke damage to the entire house, and fire damage to the basement.
The tenants had apparently been recently evicted.
The cause of the fire is not yet known, and the incident is under investigation by the AFRS and the Abbotsford Police Department.
