The Abbotsford Police Department has released this composite sketch of a suspect in a home break-in on May 15.

The Abbotsford Police Department (APD) is seeking the public's help in tracking down a man who broke into a home on May 15 and locked a teen boy in the bathroom.

Const. Ian MacDonald said that at about 1:45 p.m. on that day, the suspect broke into a home in the 35200 block of Christina Place, where a 13-year-old boy was playing on an electronic device.

The suspect rummaged through the home and took valuables before coming across the boy, whom he briefly locked in the bathroom.

The man then forced the boy to accompany him through the house in a search for more valuables before locking the teen back in the bathroom.

The thief left with several electronics from the home.

He is described as Caucasian, in his 20s, clean-shaven, 5' 8" and with a medium build and short dark-drown hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket and jeans.

MacDonald said investigators have attempted to identify the suspect, including working with other jurisdictions.

They have now released a composite sketch in hopes of catching the culprit.

Anyone with information is asked to call the APD at 604-859-5225, text 222973 (abbypd) or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
