A 52-year-old pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries after she was struck by a vehicle early Tuesday morning (March 12) in Abbotsford.

Const. Art Stele, media officer with the Abbotsford Police Department (APD), said the incident occurred at around 4 a.m. in the intersection of King and Riverside roads.

Stele said the driver of the vehicle, a Dodge Durango, remained on scene and is co-operating with police.

“Impairment has been determined not to be a factor in the crash,” he said.

The circumstances of the collision are still being investigated.

As of 9:45 a.m., the intersection remains closed as APD officers and members of the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service continue to gather evidence.

Anyone with dashcam footage or information is asked to contact the APD at 604-859-5225.
