VIDEO: Abbotsford mayor and wife read classic children’s Christmas book

Tune in to watch couple read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas

If you’re looking for a little quiet time for your little ones this Christmas, the Brauns have you covered.

Mayor Henry Braun and his wife Velma were recorded reading the classic children’s book ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas last year for the holidays.

The Youtube video is still available online this year, with a link on the main page of the City of Abbotsford website.

The couple are sitting in a festive living room, with a fire roaring and a Christmas tree glittering as they take turns reading the story. Images from the original storybook version also play on the screen.

While the city puts up a fresh video each year, they said this year with all the focus on the flooding and devastation, they chose to use last year’s timeless and relaxing video. The video was originally created as a thank you to all the children in Abbotsford who submitted artwork for the mayor’s Christmas card contest in 2020.

Another Christmas tradition in Abbotsford is driving around to see some of the amazing light displays throughout the area. Every year, the Abbotsford News publishes a list of addresses of note. See the link below.
