Here is a list of some of the Christmas light displays that can be viewed, as supplied to The News by homeowners.
To add your display to the list (whether you are in Abbotsford or Mission), send an email to newsroom@abbynews.com with the name of the family or individuals hosting the display, the address, a description of the display, hours/dates of operation and whether donations are being accepted. Please include a high-resolution horizontal photo.
ABBOTSFORD
3863 Kensington Court
The Hood family’s display includes inflatable characters, handmade wooden cutouts, rope-light figures and thousands of lights. The lights are on from 5 to 10 p.m. until Dec. 31. Donations are collected for Cyrus Centre for at-risk and homeless youth in Abbotsford.
3084 McMillan Road
This display features a mix of inflatables, pop-ups, lasers, oversized ornaments, and many colourful lights. The display turns on at dusk and runs until at least midnight until mid-January. The family is not collecting funds on site, but recommend donations be made to Central Valley Search and Rescue.
1405 Kaslo Court
The Bench family’s display features thousands of flashing lights and blowups. Open nightly from 5 to 10 p.m. See @benchchristmaslights on Instagram.
28192 McTavish Road
The Kemle family’s farm display features thousands of lights, some familiar faces and some homemade pieces. Feel free to walk under the arches and enjoy the lights and holiday melodies from 6 to 9 p.m. daily. A bin is located near the entrance to the driveway to donate goods or cash for the local food bank.
34314 Woodbine Crescent
This display has been in the making for 36 years with more than 25,000 lights and many figures. The display features several handmade wooden cutouts and, of course, the traditional Santa, snowman, The Grinch, nutcrackers, a toy shop, Olaf and even the Griswold station wagon.
29029 Maclure Road
This display features more than 14,000 lights (their most ever) with a few new additions in the yard. The lights are on from 4 to 11 p.m. daily until Jan. 1. Donations are being collected for the Fraser Valley Brain Injury Association in memory of their son, who passed away in 2020.
34964 Orchard Drive
Leya, Livia and Daniel’s festive North Pole is filled with lots of lights, a giant star, a 20-foot Christmas tree, reindeer with Santa’s sleigh and more. The lights are on from 5 to 10 p.m. nightly.
33159 Townshipline Road
The Keis family is lit up once again for 2021. Their display on Matsqui Prairie features a wide variety of lights, figurines and blow-ups, including traditional holiday faces, Disney favourites and more. Please, no walking through the display, which runs nightly from 4:30 to 10:30 p.m.
2774 Maple Street
Dave and Catharine Goldbaum have gone all out with their Christmas lights for the last six years, and they’re always adding more. Lights are on from 5 to 11 p.m. every night.
2061 Orchard Drive
The Lawson family runs their display of lights, blow-ups, lighted figures and Christmas trees from 5:30 p.m. to midnight daily.
32273 Adair Avenue
The Kreschuk family’s display features blow-ups, handmade wood creations and lots of lights. Open daily from 5 to 11 p.m.
31887 Gabriola Court
The Singh family has added more to their display this year, including hand-made items and many unique lights. They have everything from reindeer and Christmas trees to Santa’s sleigh. The family encourages donations to the local food bank or any organization of choice. The display runs daily from 5 to 10 p.m.
1180 Gladwin Road
The Schubert family’s display is a winter wonderland featuring 13 decorated Christmas trees, a nativity scene, Santa and sleigh on the roof, a snowflake wall, penguins, flashing stars and many lights. The display is on from 5 to 10 p.m. daily until Jan. 2.
2148 Vinewood Street
The Harling family’s biggest display yet includes more than 20 blowups and dancing lights on the house. The display can be viewed daily from 4:30 to 11 p.m.
2158 Vinewood Street
This blowup galore is a car-stopper and is open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m.
MISSION
33316 11th Avenue
Tune your car to 105.9 FM to listen to the Smith family’s display. Hours are 5 to 10 p.m. nightly.
33550 12th Avenue
The Kovac family’s display features a myriad of lights, many lighted displays and music. It runs from 5 to 10 p.m. nightly.
33445 Third Avenue
The S.A.H. Restoration family’s display features a multitude of lights and stars. It runs all day and night until Jan. 10.
