  • Abbotsford police announced a total of 14 charges against three teenagers this week. They say the men, all 19 years old, are connected to the ongoing violent Lower Mainland gang conflict. The charges include possession of fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA for trafficking. And firearm and weapons possession.
  • Abbotsford South MLA Darryl Plecas has become the Speaker of B.C.’s legislature against his party’s wishes and after saying this about taking the role in June.
  • Abbotsford’s Sushil Dosanjh shared her video and story from the path of Hurricane Irma — the most powerful storm ever recorded over the Atlantic Ocean.
  • Police issued a public notice this week about the release of Donald Williams Snow. The 61-year-old has a history of offences against children. He’s out of jail but remains supervised.
  • An Abbotsford cop accused of corruption pleaded guilty to breach of trust this week. Nine other charges against Christopher Nicholson were stayed. Sentencing is scheduled for Sept. 20.
  • And Abbotsford police are encouraging drivers to think inside the box, when it comes to road safety.
  • It was announced this week that superstar comedian Jerry Seinfeld is coming to town. He will play Abbotsford Centre on Dec. 1. Tickets went on sale Friday.
  • Tickets went on sale Friday for another big event coming to Abbotsford Centre. Mamba Fight Night 4 is coming on Nov. 10. It will be the biggest mixed martial arts event ever in Abbotsford.
