Abbotsford’s Veerji Fish ‘n’ Grill gave a big helping hand to Abbotsford COVID-19 Immunization Centre nurses and staff earlier this week.

The Indian restaurant, which has also has locations in Aldergrove, Langley, Surrey, Delta and Kelowna, delivered meals for 35 nurses and other staff on site on Tuesday (April 27).

The meals contained shahi paneers, rice and naan and a number of combo meals.

Gagan Hayer, the client care coordinator at the centre, praised the restaurant for its support.

“Thank you once again from our staff at the Abbotsford COVID-19 Vaccination Site,” he stated in an email. “We appreciate your generous donation.”

Veerji Fish ‘n’ Grill management replied, stating they are pleased to help in anyway.

“I’m glad that we could help you guys out,” they said. “I appreciate what you guys are doing for us in this uncertain time. If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.”

The restaurant has made headlines in recent years for offering free meals for those unable to pay and for providing a free tiffin service in the early days of the pandemic.
