The Yale Lions senior and junior girls basketball teams are having strong seasons, with both ranked in the top ten provincially.

The Yale Secondary girls basketball program is rolling at both the senior and junior levels this season.

The juniors sport a 19-1 record and are currently ranked fifth in the province.

Within their own league they are a perfect 6-0 and won the Rick Hansen Tournament, the Abbotsford City Police Tournament and the Yale Invitational. The girls’ only loss was to number one ranked Brookswood by six points.

The senior girls have also had an impressive start, winning the GW Graham Tournament, Abbotsford Police City Tournament and the Yale Invitational. The club was most recently ranked seventh in the province for AAA.

In the coming weeks, both teams will be trying to get out of the competitive Fraser Valley league and earn a berth to the provincials.
