Athletes from Abbotsford’s Twisters Gymnastics Club made a major medal haul at the Delta Invitational last weekend.
On the girls’ side, Emma Doede, Zoe Rumsby, Leanne Hellewell and Marquita Morison were all-around medalists in their respective categories. Doede won gold all-around, along with gold on the bars and silver on the beam and floor, while Rumsby added a gold on beam, silver on floor and bronze on bars to her bronze medal in the all-around competition.
Hellewell took silver on bars and all-around, and bronze on vault and floor. Morison, competing in the national open division, claimed bronze all-around to go with silver on beam and bronze on bars.
Other female medalists included Megan MacLellan (gold on vault, bronze on beam), Ericka Van den Brink (silver on vault) and Heather Vanhouck (gold on floor).
Medalists on the boys side included Dawson Friesen (gold on pommel horse), Zachary Clay (gold on vault), Jonathan Osers (silver on floor) and Steven Chaplin (bronze on rings).
