The Robert Bateman Timberwolves junior football squad dropped a 32-21 decision to the Argyle Pipers of North Vancouver in the first round of the AA playoffs last week.

The Timberwolves got long touchdown runs of 51 and 49 yards from Austen Zacher and an 80-yard kick return from Jay Lee, but it wasn't enough to extend their season.

Zacher led the offence with 136 yards on 12 carries, while McKenzie Johnson, Josh Friskie and Mahek Sharma were among the T-Wolves' defensive standouts.

The Bateman coaching staff was proud of each player and their commitment to the team throughout the season, which ended with a 7-2 record.
