Spring might be the busiest time of year for W.J. Mouat multi-sport athlete Callum Pilgrim.

The Abbotsford News's high school sports blog, Students of the Game, features local athletes sharing their experiences and unique perspectives. Today, W.J. Mouat multi-sport athlete Callum Pilgrim discusses her busy spring schedule, which features soccer, track and field, and softball.

These past few weeks I have kept super busy with three sports in full swing. Softball, track and field, and school soccer all share the same season which makes for a crammed schedule.

The W.J. Mouat girls soccer team placed very well in both of our tournaments. In Chilliwack we came in third place and in Summerland (my favorite tournament) placed first!

Unfortunately, the soccer season is very short and even though we started to gel as a team near the end, we did not qualify for the Fraser Valleys. It was a great season and I’m looking forward to next year.

With the Abbotsford and the Upper Fraser Valley track and field meets over and done with it is now time to start preparing for the Fraser Valley and B.C. high school meets, the most important ones. I am hoping to qualify in my events, and am hoping that our relay teams can finish on the podium.

Softball season is finally here and even though we still have to get some hitting going in our games, it is going very well. We are going to Washington this weekend for a tournament and hopefully it will help us gain more chemistry on and off the field.
