TOOR TERRIFIC ON TRACK

Harnek Toor of Abbotsford owned the podium at the recent Centennial Invitational track and field meet in Kamloops.

Toor, competing in the age 65-69 men's division, won four gold (long jump, triple jump, high jump and shot put) and four silver medals (javelin, hammer, discus, weight pentathlon).

HOOPS CAMP COMING UP

Impact Hoops is hosting summer basketball camps at Mennonite Educational Institute next month.

Camps for boys and girls entering grades 4-7 run July 1-4 and July 14-17, while sessions for those entering grade 8-11 run July 7-10 and July 21-14. Sessions will be focused on fundamental skills such as ball-handling, passing, shooting and defence, with older athletes progressing to more intermediate/advanced skills to attack off the dribble, finish at the basket, and shoot under pressure more effectively.

DION HONOURED BY SKI PATROL

Denis Dion has been named a life member of the Canadian Ski Patrol.

It's a prestigious award, with only 62 honorees in 74 years across Canada, and Dion is just the third B.C. resident to win the award. Dion has had great success spearheading the Winter Extreme Ski Show & Swap, and has served as manager of the annual Abbotsford event among other many other roles with the national body.
