The dance partners have been set for the BC Senior Boys Provincial Basketball Championships.
First round games were announced for 1A, 2A, 3A and 4A on Sunday in Langley, and a number of Abbotsford teams are ready to kick off the tournament today (Wednesday).
The defending 4A champion Yale Lions sit in the 13th seed slot, and match up with the Oak Bay Bays in round one. They kick off their championship defence today at 3:30 p.m.
The W.J. Mouat Hawks also seek the 4A title, and enter the tournament as the number seven seed. The Hawks open against Cowichan today at noon.
The Kelowna Owls, who reached the finals of the Snowball Classic tournament in January, are ranked as the top team in 4A.
The 3A field features three Abbotsford teams, with the Rick Hansen Hurricances earning the number three seed. The Hurricanes take on Matthew McNair today at noon.
The Robert Bateman Timberwolves enter the 3A tournament as the number seven seed, and kick off against Valleyview at 10:15 a.m.
Coming in as the 14th seed is the Abbotsford Senior Secondary Panthers, who take on fourth seed Charles Hays tonight at 8:15 p.m.
The Abbotsford Christian Secondary Knights are the lone local team in the 2A tournament, and enter the event as the number 10 seed. The Knights battle H.J. Cambie tonight at 6:45 p.m.
