Midsummer Classic invading Abbotsford diamonds

44 teams from all over the province competing all weekend

It’s a weekend full of baseball for youth teams from Abbotsford starting today (Friday) at the third annual Midsummer Classic Baseball Tournament.

The event sees 44 teams made up of boys and girls aged from eight to 11 take over most of the local diamonds until Sunday.

Abbotsford Angels teams from 11U AAA Tier 1, 11U AAA Tier 2, 10U A and 9U Mini Mosquito will be featured.

Games occur at Lions Park, Centennial Park, Mill Lake and all four diamonds at Exhibition Park.

Teams from all over the province are in town for the event, including clubs from Kamloops, Victoria, Campbell River, Vernon and all over the Lower Mainland.

Action runs all day Friday and Saturday, with the four division champions being crowned on Sunday.
