The inaugural Battle of the Badges charity hockey game is set for the Abbotsford Centre on Thursday, April 11.

Abbotsford Fire Rescue Services and the Abbotsford Police Department have announced the inaugural Battle of the Badges charity hockey game.

The two rivals square off at the Abbotsford Centre on Thursday, April 11 at 6 p.m.

A total of $10 from each purchased ticket will go to support the Abbotsford Police Foundation and the Abbotsford Fire Fighters Charitable Society.

Fans also have the opportunity to purchase a package of a Battle of the Badges ticket with the Abbotsford Canucks that features a ticket to the Canucks game vs. the Coachella Valley Firebirds on Saturday (April 6) for $30.

A ticket for just the Battle of the Badges game is available for $10.

It’s believed to be the first charity hockey game between AFRS and APD in several years. AFRS scored an 8-3 win in the last game, which was hosted at the Summit Centre on Nov. 3, 2019.

The Hero’s Cup also occurred on Nov. 3, 2023 at the Summit Centre and pitted the APD against the Abbotsford Paid On-Call Fire Fighters. Donations from that event raised money for Archway Community Services.
