Thousands of schoolchildren will cheer on the Abbotsford Heat on Tuesday, as the hockey club hosts its second annual school day game.

The Heat are partnering with Abbotsford School District 34 and the Fraser Valley Distance Education School on the unique initiative, which sees kids bused from school to the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre for a 10:30 a.m. game between the Heat and the Rochester Americans.

The AHL team is providing all students with a workbook to reinforce school board curriculum and engage students with learning activities throughout the hockey game.

The school day game will celebrate school spirit for the middle school students, with in-game entertainment featuring students and teachers. Prior to puck drop, students from Clayburn Middle School will perform both national anthems. During the intermissions, students and teachers will be involved in a number of games and contests.

All tickets for the school day game are priced at $10.
