The Abbotsford Heat ran into a red-hot goalie on Tuesday as they opened a five-game road swing.

The Heat out-shot the Milwaukee Admirals by a 30-20 margin, but Ads netminder Magnus Hellberg stood tall. Aside from a third-period goal by Max Reinhart, the Swedish rookie keeper was flawless as Abbotsford saw its two-game win streak snapped.

The Heat fired 16 shots on goal in the first period alone, but Hellberg stopped them all.

The hosts opened the scoring at 11:50 of the second, as Juuso Puustinen notched a power-play marker. The Admirals doubled their lead early in the third, as Taylor Beck tallied.

Reinhart netted his fourth goal of the season at 9:18 of the final frame, beating Hellberg with a high blocker-side shot. But that was as close as the Heat would get.

Abby goalie Barry Brust took the loss, stopping 18 of 20 shots.

The Heat (26-17-7) are back in action Friday, as they visit the Peoria Rivermen.

ICE CHIPS:

• The Heat are in flux personnel-wise at the moment. Centre Paul Byron was recalled by the Calgary Flames on Tuesday morning and Ben Street was reassigned to the Heat, but he was not available for the evening game.

• Goalie Danny Taylor was placed on waivers after the Flames picked up Joey MacDonald from the Detroit Red Wings, and he was sent to the Heat after clearing on Wednesday.
