Adam Hadwin finished tied for 53rd at the PGA Tour's RBC Canadian Open last week at Royal Montreal Golf Club.

The Abbotsford golfer carded rounds of 70-69-68-71 to end up at two under par for the tournament, which was won by Tim Clark of South Africa (-17).

It was the first PGA Tour event of the season for Hadwin, 26, who is currently a regular on the second-tier Web.com Tour. But his promotion to the the continent's most lucrative pro golf circuit for 2015 is a formality at this point. The top 25 on the Web.com money list at the end of the regular season earn PGA Tour cards, and Hadwin is in eighth place with earnings of $220,867 with just four tournaments to go. The highlight of his season to date was winning the Chile Classic in March.

• Fellow Abby golfer Nick Taylor has plenty to play for down the home stretch of the Web.com Tour schedule – he's in 78th place on the money list ($44,321), and needs to get into the top 75 in order to qualify for the four-event Web.com playoffs.

The next event is the Stonebrae Classic in Hayward, Calif., beginning Thursday.
