Yarrow’s Corwin Drew vanquished his final foe in a landslide to win the Vancouver Whitecaps #StayHome Skill Challenge.
The 12 year old soccer star prepared a 41 second video of soccer ball trickery, and battled through several rounds of online voting to reach last week’s final.
Facing a young player from Saskatchewan, Drew’s video drew 77 per cent of the vote, giving him victory in the national contest.
He was told about the win in a video call from Whitecaps sporting director Axel Schuster. The call also featured a surprise appearance by Drew’s favourite player, Yordy Raina.

Drew is going to be receiving a signed jersey from the Major League Soccer player, and his video will be shown on the big screen at B.C. Place Stadium at a future Whitecaps home game.
“It was great to know that my family, friends and community were willing to help me, and I can’t wait to return the favour,” Drew said.
