The University of the Fraser Valley women's basketball team's two-week reign atop the CIS rankings came to an end on Tuesday, as they fell to No. 4 in the latest edition of the national poll.
The Cascades fell to 11-3 in Canada West league play following two weekend road losses to the Calgary Dinos and the Lethbridge Pronghorns, and they tumbled three spots in the rankings as a result.
The UFV men's hoopsters also lost both weekend games in Alberta, and they fell out of the top-10 poll for the first time this season, though they did garner 60 points in the voting to finish 11th. They were ranked No. 7 in the nation last week.
The Cascades hoopsters are at home this weekend to face the UNBC Timberwolves on Friday (women 6 p.m., men 8 p.m.) and Saturday (women 5 p.m., men 7 p.m.).
