The red-hot Abbotsford Heat kept rolling along on the road, beating the Rockford IceHogs 4-2 on Wednesday evening.
Paul Byron and Michael Ferland each notched a goal and an assist, and Chad Billins posted three helpers as the Heat won for the 11th time in 12 games and boosted their AHL-leading record to 15-5-1.
Ben Hanowski (on a first-period power play) and Brett Olson (into an empty net) also scored for the Heat, while Joey MacDonald stopped 28 of 30 shots.
Drew LeBlanc and Viktor Svedberg replied for Rockford, who sit seventh in the Western Conference at 9-9-1.
Billins registered three assists for the second straight night, and now sits second among AHL blueliners in scoring with 18 points (six goals, 12 assists) in 17 games. He’s one point back of T.J. Brennan of the Toronto Marlies.
The Heat wrap up their seven-game road trip with Saturday and Sunday games vs. the Iowa Wild.
