Yale Secondary basketball player Jauquin Bennett-Boire has landed an invitation to try out for the Canadian cadet men's basketball team.
Bennett-Boire, a standout 6'2" guard who is wrapping up his Grade 10 year at Yale, is one of 23 players invited to the under-16 age group camp. He's one of just two B.C. players on the tryout roster, the other being Jermaine Haley of Burnaby.
The Canadian cadet team, once selected, will participate in the FIBA Americas U16 Championship, June 11-15 in Maldonado, Uruguay. Canada will compete in Group B against Chile, Puerto Rico and the host nation.
