Heat fan favourite Carter Bancks was among 13 players sent to Abbotsford on Wednesday as the Calgary Flames made their first round of training camp cuts.

The Abbotsford Heat got their first batch of players on Wednesday, as the NHL parent Calgary Flames made their first round of cuts.

Ticketed for the Fraser Valley are 13 players – 11 of whom have suited up for the Heat in the past. The complete list is as follows.

Training camp begins Friday with a 10 a.m. on-ice session at the Abbotsford Entertainment and Sports Centre. The Heat host the Utica Comets, the Vancouver Canucks' affiliate, in a preseason game on Sunday (7 p.m., AESC).
