Adam Hadwin took advantage of a free weekend on the Web.com Tour schedule to come home and play the Vancouver Golf Tour's Chilliwack Open.
The 25-year-old Abbotsford golfer very nearly took down the top prize – he rallied from a six-stroke deficit on Sunday to force a playoff before falling to veteran pro Bryn Parry.
Parry had tied the competitive course record at Chilliwack Golf and Country Club with a 63 on Saturday, while Hadwin was in ninth at 69.
But Hadwin's 66 during the second and final round on Sunday was the lowest of the day, and was enough to draw him even with Parry at -7 after the latter shot a 72.
Parry, though, prevailed on the third playoff hole.
Fellow Abbotsford natives Luke Bogdan (T8, -1) and Andrew Smeeth (T13, +2) also turned in solid performances at the Chilliwack Open.
