Abbotsford Skating Club wins in Aldergrove

ASC skaters glide away with several medals, good performances

The Abbotsford Skating Club glided out of Aldergrove with a handful of medals at the annual Jingle Blades competition from Nov. 19 to 22.

A total of 26 ASC skaters hit the ice, with Wendy Lin and Della Williamson both earning first -place finishes.

Lin won gold in the pre-introductory interpretive, with Williamson placing first in the Star U13 division. Megan Geddes earned a pair of bronze medals, finishing third in the gold free skate and the gold interpretive.

Other skaters with top-five finishes included: Jessica Pawlovitch (fourth, junior silver free), Taralyn Geddes (senior, silver free skate),Jennifer Oh (seventh, senior bronze free skate) and Karman Gill (ninth, senior bronze free skate).

Test days occur in December, with fall skating programs wrapping up on Dec. 10.

A club Christmas party/performance night is happening on Dec. 11, with the BC/Yukon Open Synchro and Adult Competition occurring on Dec. 12.
