I read with utter dismay that my tax dollars will be spent bailing out Ledgeview Golf Course (“Ledgeview golf course gets $115,000 in city funding,” The News, May 17.
Much needed community resources like “The Warm Zone” drop-in centre for women will be forced to close, and recreational facilities like the Matsqui Outdoor Pool are closed because our council chose not to fund operating costs or repairs, but a grant is given to a golf course?
If the Ledgeview Golf Society is incapable of running the facility, maybe it’s time that it be sold instead of them standing before council with their hands out.
