LETTER: Solution for beavers, not homeless

The initiative for the one beaver and his previous cronies all working on the dam and making a home amused me a lot (The News, Aug. 15).

I noticed that city hall and other services are on-board and working for a resolution for the problems impacting the neighbourhood of the beavers – that is to say the flooding and finding a new home for the group.

Thumbs up, and at a bargain price too.

Maybe the homeless should take note. Get to working and learn a lesson.

The Abbotsford Community Services and the 32-plus other agencies supposedly have enough personnel and money but are lacking in intelligence to assist the 150 to 165 homeless here in Abbotsford. Their budget is so large it boggles almost everybody.

As a frequent attendee at city hall and other community forums, I’ve observed the most energy put towards aggressive tactics, initiatives and forcing compliance through power antics.

They keep on costing the taxpayers money for their conflicts and keeping their high-paying agency jobs.

Full support from city hall is not happening. No need to wonder why. Just come on down to a meeting, listen and figure it out for yourself.
