LETTER: SAINTS appreciates the support

Abbotsford Community Foundation awarded grant to animal-care organization

We would like to take this opportunity to thank the Abbotsford Community Foundation for its generous support of Senior Animals In Need Today Society (SAINTS) in Mission.

SAINTS is an end-of-life, mixed species sanctuary that provides high quality, compassionate palliative care to senior and special needs animals.  Since opening its doors in 2004, SAINTS has cared for more than 600 animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, horses, chickens, ducks, budgies, pigs, cows, goats, turkeys, donkeys, and llamas.

The Abbotsford Community Foundation recently awarded us a grant from the Mary Victoria Wakefield Animal Welfare Endowment Fund to complete electrical work in our chicken and duck enclosures.  Currently, we are using extension cords to provide heat and light to our feathered residents.  The much-needed funding will help SAINTS create a safer environment for both the animals and the people who care for them.  We are incredibly grateful to the Abbotsford Community Foundation for this timely support and for demonstrating that all animals, even the frail and elderly, deserve great care.
