Chris Bryan’s column on homelessness is the most encouraging reading I’ve come across in years. The city of New Westminster has obviously found the template for solving some of the nation’s greatest problems – homelessness, mental illness and addiction.
Unfortunately, Abbotsford and other communities are still taking the old school approach on dealing with our challenged society.
To be humble and accepting of real change to deal with real life problems is what we should expect from those who want to represent us, in any form of government.
New Westminster’s approach should be considered a serious alternative to tending those who count on us, instead of treating them punitively.
