LETTER: A proposal to fight gunslingers

Change the law to enable the police forces to electronically monitor and track suspects with records

Dear Editor: Everyone is concerned about the 30 plus shootings in 30 plus days in Surrey yet are stymied as to what to do about it.

What I hear is that these gunslingers are mostly all “well known” or “known” to police and therefore suspect. That would mean that these people have records or have been investigated at some past time.

Our government has shown numerous times that when it suits them they can and do alter or re-write the laws to accommodate their agendas. I suggest that they do that now to enable the police forces to electronically monitor and track these individuals and thereby coordinate the location(s) and time(s) of where these persons are when a drive-by or other illegal firearm discharge occurs.

I’m sure exceptions to the Constitution can be made if it’s desired. For example: you can be monitored if you have a conviction on record or if you associate with criminal elements.

I expect to hear a hue and cry about this from the politically correct sector but if you aren’t dealing or extorting, or stealing and selling other peoples’ ID then you have nothing to worry about.

Sincerely, Dan Garrett Abbotsford.
