Give drivers proper respect

This morning I was in the McMillan area doing some shopping, at about 11:40.

I drove out onto the street and there were school kids all over the place.

I drove to the corner of McMillan and Old Yale Road where I tried to make a right-hand turn onto Yale Road. There was a fairly large  group of children standing around on the corner and  some of them were at least for to five feet on the street and they would not move to let me turn. I had to swing out onto part of the other lane to get by.

These were not small children – they were old enough to know better, and to know that they too have some responsibility on the street, not only the driver, who ultimately gets the blame if an accident happens.

So parents, if you want drivers to respect your children, you had better teach your children to give drivers the respect they deserve.
