NICKEL; Zelma Agnes


Zelma Nickel passed into the presence of the Lord on December 31, 2014 at the age of 88 years. She was born July 15, 1926 in Lucky Lake, SK, the oldest of 9 children. She was predeceased by her brother Elmer in 1943 and her parents Bernhard K. Sawatzky in 1973 and Mary Sawatzky (Krahn) 1989. She is survived by her husband John B. Nickel, sons John (Charlotte) Nickel and Elmer (Ricka) Nickel, six grandchildren; Tanya (Don) Coghill, Chad (Tracy) Nickel, Kevin Nickel, Ashley Nickel (Kris Por), Meghan (Trevor) Brown, Courtney (Steve) Klassen, five great grandchildren; Tyler Coghill, Reilley Coghill, Koah Klassen, Davis Klassen and Sadie Brown, as well as seven siblings and their spouses, one sister-in-law and a host of nieces and nephews. There will be a viewing at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd., in Abbotsford on Thursday, January 8, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. A celebration of Zelma's life will be held at Central Heights Church, 1661 McCallum Road in Abbotsford on Friday, January 9, 2015 at 1:30 pm. The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the Menno Home for their incredible care of Zelma as well as to Dr. M. Campbell who went beyond the call of duty in caring for our mother. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to M.B. Missions in Zelma's memory.
