MURRAY, William Rowan Grant
September 25, 1924 - February 4, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill). He passed away peacefully with his loving wife and family at his side at Abbotsford Regional Hospital after a two-year battle with cancer.
William was born in Lachine, Quebec, attended West Mount School, studied Forestry at the University of New Brunswick, met his wife, Doreen, and worked as Captain and training pilot at Canadian Pacific Air until retirement. William and Doreen were pioneers at Whistler Mountain, and inspired their family to have a passion for skiing.
William was proud and very supportive of his five sons - David, Paul, Glenn, Craig and Bruce, and their families, who will all deeply miss him. He will also be missed by his sister, Anne and her family. William extends gratitude to all of his doctors and nurses, and a special thanks to Dr. Winston, Dr. Brown and Dr. Collingridge.
If desired, and in lieu of flowers, donations in William's memory may be made to the BC Cancer Foundation. No service by his request.
In William's words: "Good life - Bye. And thank you all." William was a Captain until the end.
