William (Bill) Baxter Mitchell. March 6, 1948 to June 30, 2014.

With heavy hearts, the family of Bill announces his passing after his courageous fight with cancer. He fought his battle with strength, dignity and no complaint, the same way he lived his life. He spent his last days at home surrounded by family that he loved. Bill was born in Princeton, BC but spent most of his adult life in Abbotsford, where he worked for the LCB and raised his family. He retired to Vernon in 2006. He loved to fish, golf and putter in the garden; but what was most important to him and what he considered his prized possession was his family; we would all do well to follow the example that he set. Live each day, love each day, give a hug each day and look back with no regrets. Bill loved all of us unconditionally with no strings attached. We are all trying to fill the huge gap that is now in our lives. He leaves behind his wife, the love of his life and best friend, Bonnie; his two much-loved sons and daughters in law, Bill and Cherilyn and their children Ashlee and Logan, James and Samantha. He loved his to grandchildren as much as anyone could... they now follow Grandpa's star in the night sky. He also leaves his beloved mom Puff; his two dear sisters, Lynn and Jeanette (Clayton) and family; and Grandpa Nick (Donna). Missing and mourning also are Pat, Michael and Belinda, Jeff and Sheralyn and family, Chad and Carla, and Frank and Renay. A special thank you to all of our family members who supported us and each other in different ways through this trying time. Thank you Dr. Schuch, Dr. Rankin and Dr. Spooner. Donations in Bill's name can be made to your local SPCA. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at dignitymemorial.ca

We love you

We miss your laugh

And most of all, we miss you....

Where the river joins the sea so shall we...
