William Donald (Billy) Laurie, late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away suddenly on April 18, 2018, age 46 years, at his residence in Aldergrove, BC.
Billy is survived by his parents Bill Laurie of Abbotsford, Kelsey Laurie of Vancouver, Rosie Wiens (Garry) of Chilliwack.
Children: David Laurie (mother: Sheryl Anne Eisener), Taylor Laurie (mother: Sheryl Anne Eisener).
Grandchild: Lukas Richardson Laurie (mother: Sydney Richardson).
Sisters: Diana Bezeredi (Tim), Tiffany Rayner (Chris).
Niece/Nephew: Julia Bezeredi, Elliot Rayner.
Brother: Christopher Laurie (Robyn).
Grandmothers: Helen Plotar, Roberta Stock.
Aunt/Uncles: Maria & Terry Carstensen, Uncle: Trevor Stock (Chloe).
Cousins: Michael Carstensen (Cyndi) and their girls Jennifer and Isabelle, Michelle (Carstensen) Medeiros (Dave).
Step-sister: Karry Ferber (Mike) and their children Jordyn and Jackson.
Step-mother/Step-brother/Step-niece: Norma Laurie (Bill), Tyson Blue and his daughter Kayla Blue.
Predeceased by: David Mark Laurie (brother), Louis Plotar (grandfather), Ted Stock (grandfather), Norma Laurie (grandmother), Andrew & Bea Laurie (grandparents), Teresa Mepham (aunt).
Billy was intelligent, artistic and a gifted athlete. He lived life fearlessly and passionately, sometimes with reckless abandon.
Billy loved his family deeply and was very protective of them. He was a loyal, caring friend and was loved by all who knew him.
Billy had a charismatic personality and smile. When Billy walked into a room you knew he had arrived, he came in like a tornado and left the same way. He was a true force of nature.
A good friend of Billy's described him best:
"Billy was someone whose personality was so big he had his own gravity and naturally drew people to him".
Billy will be terribly missed and never forgotten by all of his family and very large circle of friends.
In lieu of a funeral there will be a celebration of Billy's life at a later date. It will be announced in both the Abbotsford News and on the facebook page "Remembering Billy Laurie".
