Wijtse (Wayne) Waardenburg

Wayne Waardenburg passed peacefully into the arms of his Lord on February 18, 2017. Wayne was predeceased by his eldest daughter Shirley, in July 1968. He is survived by his wife, Clara, his children: Gary (Terry), Wes, Ralph (Cindy), Ed, Jim (Brenda), Cathy (Bert), David (Theresa) and Melvin, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Wayne was born in Winterswyk, Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada on September 18, 1952. Wayne and Clara were married April 1, 1955 in Matsqui Village and were founding members of the Bethel Reformed Church. Over the years the family grew to nine children. After many years of farming, Wayne retired at age 55 and after a couple of years he took up bike riding. At the age of 63 he joined the bike club and peddled across Canada. Wayne enjoyed many things, which included; playing badminton, raising and showing pigeons, travelling with their motorhome and bike riding. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, February 27, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Bethel Reformed Church, 3260 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford, BC.
