Oct 15, 1938 - Mar 17, 2018
Ursula (Sula) Katherine Ward, 79, passed away peacefully March 17, 2018 at the Abbotsford Regional Hospital in her 80th year.

Sula was born October 16, 1938 in Penticton, BC, the daughter of Peregrine George Ellison and Francis Gwenllian (Murdo) Darling. She is survived by Donald Ward, her husband and soul mate of 61 years. They were married on September 12, 1957 in Ocean Falls, BC.

Sula is also survived by her children and their spouses and children; Colin (Mona) Ward, Winnipeg, MB and Roger (Gail) Ward, Belmont, ON as well as five loving grandchildren Connor (Kristina), Celine (Bryan), Taylor (Jacqueline), Elise (Ian) and Tess.

Sula also is survived by a brother, John Darling in Toronto and a sister, Ann Morgan in Haida Gwaii.

Sula had an inquisitive mind about everything imaginable and an insatiable curiosity about the people she met. Sula had indefatigable energy and gumption; she was not afraid to try anything. She also supported those around her, especially her grandchildren, for whom she created countless tuques, bags and quilts. She had the knack of making friends at any gathering as she could talk about gardening, birds, family or whatever she thought their passion was.

Sula was looking forward to celebrating her 80th birthday tea party at the Abbotsford Co-Op Housing after having served refreshments to her neighbours for over fifty years.

Unfortunately, she passed short of her own party at age 79.

There will be a Celebration of Life held in Naramata, BC which will be announced at a later date.
