With family at his side, Tom was ushered into the presence of Jesus early June 1, 2004 at MSA Hospital in Abbotsford, He was predeceased by his father, Fraser in 1993 and by his mother Matilda, in 1999. His memory will be cherished by his beloved wife, Ruth, of 40 years. Beloved and cherished father to his daughters Melanie and Gillian, “sons” Bob and Dave and his adoring grandchildren; Mckayla, Cameron, Jeremy and Joshua. He is survived by his brother Jesse and sister Esther.

Tom was born March 28, 1941 in Vancouver, B.C. Tom graduated from UBC, Wheaton College and the University of Toronto. He worked as a teacher, principal and adminstrator with the Sooke School District for over thirty years. At his retirement he was described as having a “competent, quiet and unassuming manner which encouraged others. He lived his life with integrity, sincerity, honesty and concern for others.”

Tom as a young man, entrusted his life into the hands of his Savior, Jesus, who became his life-long friend. But, it was in the last few years of suffering from leukemia, as his life was running through his fingers, he increasingly felt his Father’s loving hands pulling him closer to His heart. In passing, Tom fell into the arms of God who died for him to live.

We are extremely thankful to family physician, Dr. Ian Cappon and his staff, Dr. Paul Klimo and nurses at the Lions Gate Oncolgy Clinic, and the nursing staff in the ICU at MSA Hospital.

A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at Lambrick Park Church, , Feltham Road in Victoria, B.C. on Saturday, June 5 at 2:00 p.m. tom’s dear friend, Pastor Lech Bekesza, will officiate.
