Sue (Schmidt) Froese went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2018 at the age of 92 years. She will be remembered for her bright smile, stories of adventure, genuine interest in people, love for animals and children, and concern for others to know the Lord.

Sue taught in Bella Coola (1952-1954) and at Mt Lehman Elementary (1954-1956), before serving with Congo Inland Mission (CIM) and Crossworld as a director of schools in the Congo for 35 years. In spite of two rebellions, from which she fled with the clothes on her back, she always returned to the people she loved. Her passion was to teach children to read; she trained teachers, held seminars, and co-wrote textbooks for that purpose.

Sue married George Froese in 1996, and enjoyed 20 years with the love of her life. She adopted his family as her own, and will be missed by Ed (Vi) Froese, Gerald (Vivian) Froese, Bettyanne (Ron) Neufeld, Jack (Debbie) Froese, Eileen (Glenn) Deros, and Marj (Dan) Toews, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Connecting with the Schmidt family was important to Sue. Her brother Loyal, her brother-in-law Peter Dyck, her sister-in-law Ann Schmidt, and many nieces and nephews will miss her dearly.

Sue was predeceased by her husband George, her parents August and Sara, and 12 of her siblings. Her desire and prayer was, "that we might please Him in all that we do until we go to be with Him, and we will all meet in heaven someday."

Visitation will be held Friday, March 23 at Woodlawn Funeral Home 2310 Clearbrook Rd, Abbotsford from 6:30 - 7:30 pm.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 24th at 11:00 am at Bakerview Church, 2285 Clearbrook Road, Abbotsford, BC.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts to Crossworld's Ministry in the Democratic Republic of Congo where Sue served for many years. Gifts can be made in Sue's honour online at www.crossworld.org/give or by mail to: Crossworld Canada 11-1020 Matheson Bd. East, Mississauga, ON  L4W 4J9, Tel. (905) 238-0904.
