SALMON, Roy William
….A.K.A. "Smiling Sam the Piano Man"
June 25, 1933 ~ Dec. 21, 2010
Went home peacefully and painlessly into the welcoming arms of Jesus, his Lord & Savior. Predeceased by his father, Charlie, his younger brother Richard, and his loving mother Joy. Survived by his brother, Cliff (Carol) of Abbotsford, B.C., nieces Amber-Lee (Jay) Zielke of Maple Ridge, B.C., Oriana (John) Tierney of Port Alberni, B.C., and nephew Christopher (Mandie) Salmon of Minneapolis, MN. Roy lost his sight at age 18 but retained his love of the piano and graciously shared his talents with all who would listen….. Roy's friend, Donna, will miss his company as they shared many happy hours together in their sightless world, ministering to the elderly in care homes in the lower mainland and in his Whitingcourt Apartment with his fellow tenants and loving caregivers, John & Colleen Willson….. A memorial service is planned for 1:00 p.m. January 29th at Whitingcourt Apartments, 1842 East 10th Avenue, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the C.N.I.B.
