Roberta Joan (nee Watkins)
October 26, 1933 - March 12, 2016
Roberta, age 82, of Langley, BC passed away peacefully on the morning of March 12, 2016. She was born October 26, 1933 in Mission, BC and was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Leonard in 2014 and her daughter Rhonda Joan. Roberta is survived by and will be greatly missed by her 7 children; Brad (Michelle), Craig (Sue), Patti (Keith), Jan (Scott), Kelly (John), Laura (Rob) and Bill (Margaret); 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Roberta had a very full life raising her children while Len was away at sea with the RCN, all the while holding down full time employment as a dental assistant, administrator and business owner. Upon retirement, Len and Roberta moved from St. Albert, Alberta to Birchwood Village Greens in 1989 where they enjoyed a very active social life becoming extensively involved with their community and condo association. Len and Roberta then moved into Drayton Valley in 2012 with Roberta moving to Langley, BC after the passing of Len.
The family would like to thank the first responders, doctors, nurses and support staff of Langley Memorial Hospital for their care of Roberta and compassion for the entire family.
As per Roberta’s wishes, she will be cremated and along with the balance of Len’s ashes, will be interned at sea so they can remain together in eternity.
