WATSON; Robert Edward. Rob passed away at his son's home in Surrey, at a family gathering on July 27th, surrounded by those who loved him, after a brief bout with lung and brain cancer. He was born December 22, 1939 at Mission City. Survived by his loving wife Janice Laidlaw, brothers and sisters, and sons, Shawn of Surrey and Scott (Jennifer) with grandchild Hannah of Kamloops. He received B.Ed and MA degrees from UBC and worked in Prince George, Peace River North, Nanaimo, Powell River and Coquitlam as well as in the Ministry/Department of Education. He greatly enjoyed hunting, fishing, photography, wine making and especially in retirement, curling and golfing at Uplands. A good joke always made his day. Donations to the Cancer Society in lieu of flowers. No service by request - have a toast in memory of a happy life.
