Phillip Edward passed away peacefully at home on April 4, 2007 at the age of 63, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Mildred and Herbert (Bert). He will be lovingly missed by his wife Beverly, son Bradley, devoted sisters Pat and Gayle (Keary) Proud, brother-in-law Jim (Barb) Chambers, many nieces and nephews, his mother-in-law Win Chambers as well as a wide circle of close friends and family.
Phillip was a compassionate man whose generosity and love for life touched many people. Phillip was a well known successful restaurateur, owning and operating several restaurants in the Fraser Valley and Interior.
Phillip was born in Chilliwack, BC, September 15, 1943 and was raised in Hope, moving to Abbotsford in the early 70s where he raised his family. In 1998, finally able to achieve a long-time goal of moving and semi-retiring to the Blind Bay area of Shuswap Lake, he spent his final years boating, golfing and entertaining family and friends.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Juliann Aitchison, Bunny, Sue, Karen, Bert and all care givers. Phillip was an active member in various community organizations.
A Memorial Service and reception will be held at the Sorrento Memorial Hall on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Phillip’s name may be made to Cancer research or Lions charities.
