Nina REDEKOPP

August 16, 2016

REDEKOPP; Nina Margaret

July 10, 1937 ~ August 16, 2016

Nina passed away at Menno Hospital after a short illness and a longer battle with dementia.  Survived by her husband, Dick Redekopp; 4 children, Esther Odendaal, Camille Spencer, Janice Redekopp and Howard Redekopp; 4 grandchildren; her brothers Don, Larry, and Bob Scott, and many in-laws and extended relatives. Nina was born in Edmonton, AB to Margaret and Jack Scott. Nina completed RN training in 1960 at VGH in Vancouver, earning the top marks in BC in her graduating year.  Nina and Dick were married in 1960 and served for 20 years with missions in Swaziland, South Africa and Zambia, through Africa Evangelical Fellowship and SIM. After retiring, they continued supporting missionary work from their home in Abbotsford and at Central Heights Church. Nina was a skilled textile artist who made beautiful clothes, quilts and wall hangings.  She had a wonderful sense of humour and always appreciated a funny saying. The family is thankful for the smile she had on her face after hearing a joke her son made at her bedside the day before she passed. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at 11:00 am at Central Heights Church, 1661 McCallum Rd, Abbotsford, BC.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in honour of Nina to SIM Canada (https://www.sim.ca/projects/Workofthemission).
