April 20, 1939 - February 1, 2021
Nancy was born in the family home on the Sumas Prairie April 20, 1939. Nancy passed peacefully in her sleep at Abbotsford Regional Hospital on February 1, 2021.
It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our Mom. She had a very full and active life. She did her psychiatric nurse's training at Riverview Hospital and spent 10 years working there, after which she transferred to the Regional Psychiatric Center in Abbotsford and spent the rest of her nursing career there. She survived breast cancer more than once and became a member of the dragon boat team "Abreast in a Boat" and spent a few years rowing in competitions.
Her gardens were very important to her and she would grow fruit and vegetables for the whole family. After years of gardening she had created a flower garden comparable to Butchart Gardens. She belonged to the local Red Hat Society and joined the Pitt Meadows society later, and loved getting together with the ladies for lunches and fun times.
She was a great wife and companion to her husband John (predeceased) and was always helping with their various hobbies.
She is survived by her three children: John (Amanda), Keith and Sandra (Gordon), grandchildren: Johnathon, Jared, Josiah (Tianna), and Janessa, Alex, Griffin and Taryn, great grandchildren: Kristian, Lilly, Forrest, Xander, and Crews.
