Mildren (Mud) Reichelt (nee Murray)


It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of beloved Mother & Nana, Mildred Reichelt of Langley on Monday, February 27, 2107 at the age of 93. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Jean (Fred) Buffi; sons Bill (Cathy) Reichelt; David Reichelt; granddaughters Keri Reichelt, Keira (Jon) Elliott, Kali Reichelt; grandsons Bryan (Charlene) Buffi; Chris Buffi; Jesse Reichelt; great-grandsons Elliot, Linus Buffi; sister Marlene (Joe) Paches; brother-in-law Richard (Connie) Reichelt and many nieces and nephews. Mildred was born on April 2, 1923 in Killam, Alberta to Jack and Edythe Murray. She lived in Killam and Okotoks until moving to Edmonton to attend high school. It was here that she met the love of her life Roy Reichelt and they were married on January 19, 1946. Mildred will be fondly remembered as a fun-loving, kind-hearted, independent woman. Her lifelong friendships in both Edmonton and Langley are a testament to her great character. Mildred was a fantastic cook. Many will remember the gourmet dinners hosted at her home. She enjoyed curling, skiing, golf, playing cards, travelling with her RV Group. Mildred was an excellent seamstress. She introduced the Bishop Method of Sewing to Western Canada and later became an instructor. Mildred also loved to travel and spent many years discovering the world with friends and family; backpacking Australia at the age of 80. Mildred was predeceased by husband Roy (1970); grandson Dylan Reichelt; sister May (Harold) McKinley; brothers Robert and George Murray. As per Mildred’s request a private service will be held in Edmonton.
